Hello, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. An expatriate based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t in the grand plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built LunarBloomHub
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourist material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Netherlands.
